In an undergraduate setting where Software and IT students are required to take more technology courses and fewer math courses, this textbook provides a resource to learn standard topics in Linear Algebra and Vector Calculus in a single course within the context of game programming applications and projects. Topics presented in this text are carefully constructed in such a way that a student can succeed after the completion of a single college-level Calculus course. Topics include Linear Algebra, Vectors and the Geometry of Space, Vector-Valued Functions, Multi-Variable Functions, and Surfaces. There are also appendices for a Trigonometry Review and a Quick Guide to MATLAB®. Homework sets include standard problems to be completed by hand and MATLAB® problems/projects where students demonstrate the theory with graphs and simple animations. Sample and starter code is available for download from the textbook web site. This approach allows students to learn the material and then literally see the math in action.
